Authors, award winners, acknowledged experts and visiting professors, they have channelled their knowledge into our curriculum. Hopefully taking you from Sustainable tech novice to expert or at the least a champion.
Eric Zie
Eric is the Founder and CEO of GoCodeGreen. His efforts have seen him help shape the sector’s perspective on its own role and opportunity to take action to reduce the environmental impact of technology and to start creating a sustainable foundation for future digital growth.
Eric is a career technologist, having worked for over 30 years across software design and development, architecture, strategy, and innovation. Eric is a multi-award winner, including a Google Brain Award for best use of AI. His efforts topromote sustainability across technology have earned him the title of Computing's Digital Ambassador of the Year, a recent nomination for the Earthshot Prize in the Fix Our Climate category, and recognition as a World Green Technology Leader.
The University of Suffolk has appointed Eric as a Visiting Professor in Digital and ICT Sustainability, acknowledging his pivotal role in transforming our understanding of the environmental impact of ICT and digital technologies. Eric is also the vice chair of TechUK's Climate Council and a partner with the ITU, the UN's specialised agency for ICT.
Gareth Edwards
Gareth has worked in Digital since before we called it Digital. With more than 25 years experience designing and delivering digital experience and transformation programmes. Gareth acts as our Design expert at the Academy. Gareth has lead Service and Experience Design teams for Deloitte Digital, Natwest, WIPRO digital and more. Defining the method and remaining human centred throughout.
Gareth is the Chief Client Officer at GoCodeGreen, looking after our Marketing, PR, Client & Product Experience.
When not at his desk, you will find Gareth on a bike, on the way to a bike race or feeding the masses with his pizza oven
